Urgent Care and Walk-Ins Q & A

What illnesses and injuries can be treated as an “urgent care” walk-in basis?

We all experience unexpected medical problems that, while not life-threatening, do need to be addressed right away.

Some of these include:

  • Minor trauma and lacerations needing stitches

  • Acute sprains, strains, and other sports injuries

  • Urinary tract infections

  • Acute skin or respiratory infections

  • Acute nausea, vomiting and diarrhea

  • Unfamiliar abdominal or body pain

  • Fever or chills

  • Minor burns and abrasions

These conditions often need attention but are not life-threatening and do not warrant an expensive visit to the emergency room. Marina Medical’s in-house laboratory can provide immediate test results for many of these concerns. Combined with experienced physicians and staff, onsite EKG’s, IV rehydration and minor surgical capability make it possible to better meet your urgent non-life-threatening needs. When it is determined that care from a specialist or hospital is needed, Marina Medical staff will help to expedite that care for you.

Following are additional examples of conditions seen on a walk-in “urgent care” basis at Marina Medical:

  • Ear infections

  • Pink eye

  • Sinus infections

  • A sore throat or a cough

  • Colds or influenza

  • Allergies

  • Spider or other insect bites and stings

What hours is urgent care available at Marina Medical?

With the addition of Dr. Steneker, Marina Medical is expanding hours as of January 2017 to include early evenings and Saturdays to conveniently accommodate your unplanned medical urgencies.

How is care at Marina Medical different from other urgent care?

Convenience. Comfort. Time. Price. Urgent care at Marina Medical is faster and much less expensive than a trip to the emergency room. Care is also usually quicker than other urgent care options. Patients find that the Marina Medical environment is more comfortable and the staff is very accommodating. Affordable, flat rate pricing is available when insurance coverage is an issue.
